EUROPEAN NETWORK OF
SACRED HEART SCHOOLS
CORETEAM & REPORTS
The European Coreteam, a group of interested head teachers and coordinators from across the European provinces, has been meeting regularly since the Heads’ Conference in Paris in 2009. They have created a website, led an international project on prayer, held conferences in collaboration with the RSCJ JPIC International Team and set up annual short conferences in Joigny for European Sacred Heart Educators since 2012. The Coreteam reports to the Head teachers after each of their face to face meetings. Since 2009 there have been Headteacher Conferences in Dublin ( Ireland) and Placeres (Spain). The next European Conference for Headteachers will be in October 2023.
At present the Core team members are:
Birgit Gmeindl-Oser (Head teacher, Austria); Christophe Corda (Head teacher, France); Maria Luisa Campa (Head teacher, Italy), Joanna Attard Pulis & Elaine Siegler ( Headteachers, Malta) Christophe Blanchard (Head of the Tutelle, France); Victoria Lorenzato, (Network Coordinator, England and Wales); Fernando Orcastegui (Network Director, Spain); Noreen Heenan (Network Coordinator Ireland/Scotland/ Malta), Maria Teresa Bernardi (Network Link, Italy), Reinhard Hallwirth (Archdiocese of Vienna).
Our collaboration is based on a deep commitment to the mission and an abundance of good will! There is no finance for the project as yet, apart from a few donations.
The photo below is from our last meeting in Vienna in late June 2022. This hybrid meeting with some colleagues together and some at home was our first gathering 'in person' since 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic meant that a gathering in London in November 2020 had to be cancelled and we moved to Zoom meetings for almost two years. We, like so many, had to find new creative ways of working together.
